Mexican youth art exhibited at a Chicago museum
“Reflections of Dignity” – our collaborative project with the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago—was exhibited at the museum this fall through an event co-sponsored by Northwestern University. We welcomed 60 guests to see the works in person and read the stories of the Mexican youth who created them.

Dallas County calls on JJI
In October, JJAI, as part of a team assembled by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, visited the Dallas County Juvenile Detention Center.
Under state investigation, the new leadership is seeking to renew policies and practices.

Drawing on the experience and methods that JJAI has successfully used in Mexico to evaluate the operation of detention centers, together with pilot tools applied in facilities in Indiana, California, Missouri, and Louisiana, JJAI Executive Director, Douglas Keillor, will work with other national experts and local stakeholders to provide an independent assessment and recommendations.

JJI’s Board of Directors steps up
JJI’s Board of Directors, together with former board members, has stepped up to ensure that our mission continues in 2025. They have pledged USD 15,000 in donations that we need to match before the end of the year. This will ensure that we match our 2023 donations and have the resources needed to continue our fight for children in prison across the Americas.
Your year-end contribution will be matched
We accept donations in stocks and cryptocurrency. All contributions are tax-deductible.
We wish all our friends, supporters, and partners in the U.S. a very happy Thanksgiving. We are grateful for you!
