In order to work more closely with the Chiapas authorities, our executive director, Douglas Keillor, and our national projectdirector, Sarahi García, visited the state and had various activities during their stay.
On Monday, April 4, we carried out the presentation of the Annual Diagnosis of the State of Chiapas, at the Chamber ofPresidents of the State Judicial Power and with the presence of the Operators of the Criminal Justice System for Adolescents.That same day, the directors visited the facilities of the Juvenile Justice Court’s headquarters, the Specialized Secretariat forthe Supervision of Youth on Release and the Villa Crisol Specialized Internment Center for Adolescents, all of them located inthe Municipality of Berriozabal, Chiapas.
On Tuesday we met with the technical secretary of the Inter-institutional Commission, Karla Quiñonez Rodríguez, for theimplementation of the Constitutional Reforms on Security and Criminal Justice and the head of the Adolescent Prosecutor’sOffice, Karla Castillo Aranda.
The next day our team visited the facilities of the Specialized Internment Center for Adolescents and the Specialized Control,Oral Trial and Execution Court for Adolescents in the Costa Zone located in the Municipality of Mazatán, in which a donationof pairs of sneakers was handed to the youths who are currently living there, so that they can continue to exercise.
