A SUCCESSFUL CELEBRATION!
During our 2022 Annual Celebration I STAND WITH THEM, our team felt renewed as they met with dozens of friends and allies the children in conflict with the law who joined our main fundraiser of the year. They helped us raise $24,000 dollars surpassing ogoal and providing a foundation for our work in the coming year.
UPPORTING CHILDREN IN DETENTION IN MEXICO CITY
We delivered 5 care packages full of shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste and female hygiene products to girls from the Centro Especializado para Mujeres Adolescentes detention center.
We also delivered sports equipment to four male detention centers to help children stay active and healthy while in confinement.
REDUCING TIME TO TRIAL TASK FORCE
A meeting was held at the facilities of the court for minor offenders in the State of Durango to provide training and clarify doubts about database management for the monitoring of cases in pretrial detention towards expediting cases of children in detention.
MEETING WITH NEW AUTHORITIES IN DURANGO
On September 28th, Mr. Álvaro Rodríguez Alcalá, the new magistrate for the Court for Juvenile Offenders of the Judiciary of the State of Durango, and JJAI, met to discuss the continuation of our work that is executed in conjunction with the court. We agreed to continue our collaboration together and Estefania Acosta, JJAI’s Project Coordinator, was chosen as a liaison.
